Cousin Grace

Here is Tess loving her Cousin Grace!!! They are super sweet together!

Our picture with Santa

Even though we were not happy, we gave it a "go" with a pic with Santa. Tess was a good sport, but asks everyday to make sure she does not have to go see Santa again. No Santa, all done. Santa nice, but all done.

Happy Halloween!

Our sweet Tess was a fairy for Halloween. She had so much fun! We carved pumpkins to prepare - we asked her what she wanted for the faces and she said Mickey Mouse and a Happy Face, hence our creativeness. Daddy took her Trick or Treating with 2 other neighborhood kids. For the first few homes, Tess thought she was being invited in to the homes, she finally figured out she was only going to get candy. She was very polite remembering to say Trick or Treat and thank you. When she got home, she insisted on helping hand out candy. She carefully placed candy in the bags, wishing Happy Halloween and your welcomes to all. She was absolutely precious!

Mommy's post

This is one of my favorite meals to make and seems to be a good one to eat too! I was being creative one day and made a heart out of the mold! Spaghetti Torte-recipe for anyone who wants to enjoy!!!

Spaghetti Torte - 8 servings

1 pkg (16 oz) spaghetti
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 c. ricotta cheese
1 T. Italian seasoning
4 egg whites or 1/2 c. fat free cholesterol free egg product
1/4 c. chopped fresh or 1 1/2 t. dried basil leaves
2 medium tomatoes, coarsely chopped
4 slices (1 oz. each) provolone cheese, cut into fourths
Spaghetti sauce, if desired

The end part of August

Our little monkey surprised us again. While cleaning out the linen closest, purging for the garage sale, Tess decided to explore and climb. We thought it was too funny!
A small visit to the Happiest place on earth before Daddy went back to school officially. Here we are trying to pull the sword from the stone!
A day at the beach, our first venture on the boogie board. Tess went once and hasn't been quite as daring as that first time. But she seemed to love it while it lasted.
This beautiful watermelon is from the fruits of our labor. Our veggie garden produced two yummy and perfect watermelons. The whole family helped cultivate this year and it was well worth it. We had strawberries, green beans, corn and cucumbers in addition to the watermelon.

Summer Fun!

There has been so much going on this summer, we have a book (well picture book) to write to catch every one up on the Joly happenings.

Tess turned 2! We went to Disneyland with Mimi and Pops. Tess loves the Tea cups.

At the end of the school year Daddy takes a trip to Wild Rivers with the 6th and 7th grade students from his school. Mommy and Tess came this year and played on the slides.

Uncle Alex brought some fire works for us on the 4th of July. These are the snakes! We still go to the side yard looking for them every time we visit Baba.

Here is a pair of drivers you do not want on the road. I worry about these two when they get old enough to go out on the town together! The boys better watch themselves. These two are sassy.

We have had several beach days. Tess is a natural beach lover. She goes from the water to the sand holes daddy digs and watches the people around her.

This is a picture on the train at Santa Ana Zoo. We LOVE trains! I guess from dads stand point, I have a daughter who loves swimming, the beach, trains, and is not afraid of anything. She loves to catch lizards in the back yard. That beats playing with dolls!

But we do love PINK!
Last Pictures! This is Daddy and Tess diving into the deep end of the pool. We are at the pool at least 2 times a week and love every minute of it. The last one is her feeding Bruno (Baba's neighbor dog) and getting a kiss for bringing prime rib bones for him. Did I mention that she is not afraid of anything!

ok. I added one more. So, Uncle Alex had a baby shower of sorts while Aunt Mel had her shower. The boys went a had lunch at Hooters while the girls did their shower thing. Tess had just as much fun as the boys did.

Our little gardener!

I love eating tomatoes fresh out of the garden! Yummy! It is my favorite! It is fun to pick peppers too, but I don't like them.

Our Diver and Mommies boo boo!!!!

Mommy had a little accident on Friday evening! Fractured her right, 5th metatarsal while out to dinner. So it will be an interesting next couple of weeks!!! Along with being almost 15 weeks pregnant.... yes.... the secret is finally out!!!!

As you can see Tess is becoming the avid daredevil, from this point she will enter the water and roll over by herself, float and roll back over to get to daddy! I am an impressed mom! Swimmer or not she loves the water!

Mom helped with the decorating I did the baking and some of the frosting. Tess enjoyed a quiet morning with a few friends and family. Thank you all for your generosity and love!!!!

Tess' 2nd Movie! - We Love Swimming!

Hi all!

Here is dad's 2nd attempt at making a movie! Sorry for the image. Not sure how to fix that....maybe Brad can give me a few pointers?

Tess has been in swim lessons since she was 10 months old and has become very comfortable in the water. She has lessons two days a week and spa time with mom and dad. Just a week ago, Mary and I were able to sit back in the spa and let Tess swim back and forth on her own. She can say Pool and Spa and let us know when she wants to swim. During bath time, she has started giving her Mickey toy swim lessons by making him float on his back while she sings. That is what her teacher does for her....She also plays Humpty Dumpty with Mickey as she makes him sit on the edge of the bath tub. She sings the song, and pushes him in the water. You will see a clip of her doing Humpties in the movie.

We are so proud of her progress and know that she is safe around water, but she also knows not to go near a pool with out us! In the video, she floats on her back really well, we are now starting to work on rolling back to the belly to find the step. Her favorite thing to do is jump from one step to the other.

Be sure to tune in for the 2024 Olympics! She will be in Lane 4.

Tess' First Movie!

Here is our first attempt at movie making. Tess is reading (it's really word recognition) the words mom has written on the bath wall during her bath time. She has many more words, such as Hershey, more, please, outside, aunt Mel, Aunt Doll, Pops, Baba, Didi, Yaya, please, love you, good girl, ball, baby, Minnie, Poo, Donald Duck, and well more but can't remember them right now. It seems like a few new words a day. Anyway, enjoy!

A lot of firsts....

We have been busy and enjoying the month of March. We have adventured in the first time bowling and the first time to Disneyland. Tess was fascinated with the big heavy ball at bowling. She actually did pretty good and hit some pins down. We were with Stefan at a bowling event chaperoning, but Tess wiggled her way in to one throw with the kids. Disneyland was so fun for all of us. Tess was frightened of Minnie Mouse, but we did get a great pic with a smile.

Daddy's Birthday!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Well, it has been a birthday we will never forget! Having a baby has added a little bit of uncertainty to well laid plans. We had plans to go to Disneyland for Tess' first trip to see "mimi," a dinner at the Kellog Ranch, tickets to Circue de Sole', and other fun stuff, but all was put off for our beautiful Tess and her amazing ability to hurl food, get the Croup, and get daddy sick. We love her no matter how much she coughs. Before we got too sick, we were able to go for a bike ride and see grammi and great grammi "gi gi". You can see the pictures of daddy with his new bike - yes that was a birthday present to himself..paid for by mommy...and Tess with Chipper when we went to see grammi. The much needed rain has added a little curve in things as well. But we won't complain about the rain as we love any wet weather we can get.

Baby not included!

A child seat for two!

Anyway, wishing every one a wonderful weekend!

No Crack!

Can you believe this already! I don't think I even need to say anything.

Super Bowl Sunday

Congratulations Steelers! If anyone knows us, the Krill side are crazy Steeler fans. What a great game and just in the nick of time! Tess kept yelling.... Go Go!!! (anytime she sees a sport... even golf, it is Go Go!) I think the Steelers have a new mascot!!!
